Kick off the season with a game all about celebrating our community and the future of Vanderbilt Athletics!

Included in our Vandy United celebration, we will have construction hats and white foam glow sticks for the first 1500 fans to celebrate construction and our progress moving forward. Local middle school and high school bands are invited to perform with the Spirit of Gold (SOG) at halftime, and a enjoy a game from the perspective of a college athletic band! This unique opportunity includes a discounted game ticket (near the Spirit of Gold), official t-shirt, rehearsal with SOG, and the halftime performance. As well, this first game celebrates and invites all youth sports organizations or teams to come out and enjoy the start of another college football season! Youth sports teams will be provided the opportunity to participate in combine activities prior to the game, in addition to on field photos, and more! Additionally, with each purchase, registrants will be provided with a complimentary t-shirt. Prices start at just $20. Sunday, September 24 is National Gold Star Family Day. A Gold Star Family is the immediate family member(s) of a fallen service member who died while serving in a time of conflict. As well, we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Music City Bowl team and their victory over Boston College. Former student-athletes from that team will return to be recognized and enjoy a day of Commodore camaraderie.

2023 marks the 150th Anniversary of Vanderbilt University. Join us to celebrate the milestone! Vanderbilt faculty and staff are invited to join the game on the university! More information will be shared out with Vanderbilt faulty/staff once the academic year begins.

As well, we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Commodores victory in the Compass Bowl over Houston. Join us as we welcome back student-athletes from that team and remember their accomplishments on the gridiron.

Additionally, Mr. C's Reading Club participants will get to claim their prize of attending a Vanderbilt football game this day! Each reaching club participant receives 2 complimentary tickets, and can purchase additional at a discounted rate. This program is run through the Metro Nashville Public Libraries, in partnership with Vanderbilt Athletics.

We also join college football in recognizing Mental Health Awareness Week in partnering with Hilinski's Hope. The organization was founded in honor of Tyler Hilinski who played football at Washington State University. Tyler tragically took his own life in 2018, following his junior year of college. Vanderbilt University welcomes all parents and family members of current Vanderbilt students to join us for a weekend on campus in celebration of family weekend. All alumni are invited back to campus for Homecoming Weekend! The 2023 reunion weekend specifically celebrates the classes of 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1339, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018! The Vanderbilt Alumni Association will host a pregame tailgate for all alumni and their families, as well as provide the opportunity to purchase tickets for the game at a discounted rate. Lastly, in the spirit of alumni, join Vanderbilt Athletics in celebrating all of the student-athletes who will receive a degree either in December 2023 or May of 2024, as they take the field at FirstBank Stadium one final time this season. The senior day celebration includes both football student-athletes, cheer and dance student-athletes, as well as Spirit of Gold members marching in their final home game.
